The music streaming service Spotify approached &Open to create a special gift experience for their advertising clients, timed to coincide with their annual Wrapped campaign. Their challenge was to design a meaningful expression of gratitude that would reflect Spotify's values and show their clients how much they are valued.
&Open designed a sustainable gift solution featuring custom, US-grown cotton sweatpants with branding that matched the Wrapped campaign. The packaging also used eco-friendly materials. Crucially, recipients were given the choice to accept the physical gift, select a Headspace subscription, or donate to a charity. This approach by &Open was highly successful, as it prevented over 2,000 unwanted gifts from being sent when 45% of recipients chose a non-physical option.
