Europcar launches a cross-platform car rental app in 36 months with Andersen

Europcar, a Scandinavian car rental company and part of the world's largest rental network, partnered with Andersen to build a keyless, digital car rental platform. Their challenge was to create a simple and intuitive cross-platform system that would allow users to rent and access vehicles via Bluetooth without a physical key, requiring a well-architected and flexible solution.

Andersen developed a serverless application using React Native, React.js, Node.js, and a comprehensive suite of AWS services. The solution included a mobile app for users and a web-based management panel, enabling keyless car access, post-factum payments, and integration with third-party systems. As a result, the product significantly reduced human-caused errors and was so successful that it was acquired by one of Europe's largest rental car companies as a white-label solution.

Europcar
