Philip Morris International deploys iMEL in 2 plants in Italy with Andea Solutions

Philip Morris International (PMI) faced the challenge of deploying an integrated Manufacturing Execution Layer (iMEL) solution to support the production of its Reduced Risk Products. The key challenges included aggressive timelines to extend production capacity and the complexity of integrating this new system with their ERP, automation, and logistics platforms. To address this, PMI partnered with vendor Andea Solutions to implement a solution based on the Apriso FlexNet platform.

Andea Solutions delivered the iMEL solution by customizing the Apriso FlexNet platform, collaborating on machine integration design, and performing formal testing. As a result, the system is now operational in two plants in Italy, enabling PMI to sustainably meet market demand. Andea helped PMI successfully meet its strict deadlines, and the vendor continues as a strategic partner for plans to deploy the solution to additional manufacturing facilities and implement further enhancements.
