Infirmary Health, Alabama’s largest non-government healthcare system serving over 800,000 patients across four acute-care hospitals, needed to rapidly extend its new electronic health record to support physician documentation and order management by a firm March 2014 go-live. Infirmary Health implemented ANCILE uPerform to create LifeCareU, a Citrix-hosted, centralized training portal with synchronized courses, tip sheets, videos and tracking. Within eight weeks more than 850 physicians and 500 staff were trained (over 10,000 training events in under ten weeks), consultant needs fell by 33%, go-live adoption moved quickly to optimization, operating costs were lowered, and clinicians gained a single secure location for patient histories and orders.
