Expanding clinical services via telehealth to improve the lives of children

Nemours, a multi-state pediatric health system with more than 80 care locations, needed to expand access to pediatric expertise across homes, hospitals, primary care offices and schools while integrating with its Epic EHR. To meet this goal Nemours selected Amwell and launched a white‑labeled telehealth service, Nemours CareConnect, to deliver pediatric care across direct‑to‑consumer, clinician‑to‑clinician and clinician‑to‑family channels.

Amwell implemented the CareConnect platform (plus Telemed Tablets and the Amwell Exchange), integrated with Nemours’ Epic system, enabling live video visits, school clinics, clinical‑trial prescreening and post‑discharge follow ups. The program has enrolled 17,000+ patients, achieved 97% “highly satisfied” consumer ratings, a 4.7/5 platform score, and helped 64% of families avoid higher‑cost ED/urgent care/retail visits (25% said they would have gone to the ER without CareConnect), with average visits around 11 minutes — demonstrating measurable access, satisfaction and cost‑avoidance benefits for Nemours.
