Northern Ireland Water Gaining the tools to analyse, manage and improve asset data

Northern Ireland Water needed a better way to create, edit, analyse and audit asset records as it prepared for a large-scale survey of 3,500 sites across Northern Ireland. Its existing Ellipse-based processes were too manual and time-consuming for the volume of data involved, and the company wanted to improve asset data quality without hiring a large number of additional staff. AMT-SYBEX was brought in to help address this challenge.

AMT-SYBEX developed Bulk Upload and Data Integrity (BUDI) tools, built on its Affinity Systemreach software, to automate data gathering, validation, review and upload into Ellipse. The solution streamlined asset record creation, automatically validated data at the point of collection, improved auditability and supported thousands of new records using existing staff. Northern Ireland Water reported that the ADAI project had already received data from nearly 300 sites, with substantial cost savings expected over the next 3–4 years.
