Kaifa captures new markets with innovative smart metering solutions

Kaifa, a global electronics manufacturer, wanted to move beyond supplying smart electricity meters and offer complete end-to-end smart metering solutions to utilities. To do that, it needed a way to handle the large volumes of meter data generated by these systems, so it partnered with AMT-SYBEX and IBM, using Affinity Meterflow and IBM Informix software.

AMT-SYBEX worked with Kaifa to build an integrated smart metering solution combining Kaifa’s Head-End System, Affinity Meterflow, IBM Informix TimeSeries, and IBM WebSphere Application Server. The solution delivered linear scalability for up to 100 million meters, and benchmarking showed it could process a full day’s data from 10 million meters sending readings every 30 minutes in just 96 minutes, helping Kaifa enter new markets with a more complete offering.
