Cisco Partners Collaborate to Help Change Educational Paradigm for California’s Neediest Students

West Hills Community College District, a rural California community college serving more than 5,000 students across multiple campuses, was struggling with unreliable, outdated separate voice, data, and video systems. Working with AMS.NET and Cisco, the district needed a more dependable, scalable network to improve access, support growth, and better serve economically disadvantaged students.

AMS.NET helped design and deploy a Cisco AVVID-based converged infrastructure with a switched gigabit backbone, unified voice/video/data, and integrated messaging. The new solution improved reliability and redundancy, enabled video meetings and distance learning, and helped West Hills expand online education to about 1,000 students—100% growth in three years—while increasing staff productivity and lowering the cost of delivering education.
