SuperAwesome’s PopJam team needed kid-safe product analytics for a social platform designed for under-13 users, but their in-house setup was unstable, time-consuming to maintain, and limited what the team could measure and learn. Because privacy and COPPA/GDPR-K compliance were critical, they could not rely on a standard off-the-shelf analytics SDK and needed a solution that would avoid sending personally identifying data from kids’ devices.
SuperAwesome implemented Amplitude by piping events from its existing privacy-controlled events service into Amplitude via the HTTP API, while keeping its bespoke client SDKs and data pipeline in place. With Amplitude, the team gained powerful cohort analysis and impact analysis tools, improved reporting and faster decision-making, and expanded usage across multiple teams. The business regained time to focus on innovation, and the team reported that the adoption of Amplitude gave them autonomy and faster reactions to product and marketing questions.
