How the Lydia Design Team Gains Autonomy, Moves Faster, and Improves Conversion with Data-Driven Design

Lydia, a French banking app startup, wanted its design team to move faster and make better product decisions, but it needed a clearer way to measure user behavior and identify where people were dropping off in key flows. Lydia used Amplitude to give designers direct access to real-time product analytics and help them understand friction points and opportunities without relying heavily on the data team.

With Amplitude, Lydia redesigned its loan calculator by removing unnecessary steps, simplifying fields, and improving the flow after discovering that 20% of users left before seeing an offer. The change led to a 14 percentage point increase in clickthrough rate, reaching 94.4%. Lydia also used Amplitude insights to improve card customization by adding prompts and offering a no-customization option.
