How the Fastest Growing Game In the App Store Retains Its Users

QuizUp, the Iceland-based mobile gaming startup behind one of the fastest-growing App Store games, needed a better way to understand user behavior and improve retention as its audience exploded. The team turned to Amplitude after finding other tracking tools insufficient and after spending too much time building and maintaining their own data pipelines.

Amplitude helped QuizUp send events through Redshift pipelines without needing a full-time engineer, while its dashboards and extensibility supported faster insights and A/B testing. Using Amplitude, QuizUp built a more data-driven culture, launched QuizUp 2.0, and focused on social features that increased retention; the company also automated repetitive reporting so teams could spend more time on analysis and product improvements.
