How Recent YC Grad Priime uses Amplitude to Build a Better Photo App

Priime, a Y Combinator photo-editing iOS app, needed an affordable analytics platform that could handle nearly a million sessions and more than 10 million monthly events. Existing tools like Google Analytics and Flurry were unreliable, too expensive at higher volumes, and didn’t offer the external dashboard API Priime needed for custom reporting. Amplitude helped Priime track product usage and monitor key metrics as the startup scaled.

Amplitude implemented event tracking and a Dashboard API that Priime used to build custom internal dashboards and share style performance stats with photographers. With Amplitude, Priime discovered that users who viewed style details or photographer profiles were far more likely to return, with those users coming back 75% of the time even after three months. Amplitude gave Priime a reliable, budget-friendly way to analyze retention and support product decisions.
