A Amplitude Case Study
NerdWallet, the San Francisco–based personal finance site founded in 2009, needed clearer product analytics as it shifted toward a subscription model. Their prior tools (Mixpanel and Redash) were either too superficial or too slow to support organization-wide, user-centric decisions, leaving engineering and product teams waiting days or weeks for answers.
NerdWallet switched to Amplitude and used Segmentation, Cohorts, Funnels, and Pathfinder to get answers in seconds, surface user-impacting errors, and prioritize work. The move helped cut app load time from 42 to 5 seconds, doubled mobile click‑through rates, enabled cross-selling that doubled retention for users of two products, and sped up engineering decision-making and iteration.
