Nautilus, the connected fitness company behind the JRNY training app, needed a better way to understand how users engaged with workouts across different modalities and to improve retention. The team turned to Amplitude to analyze workout behavior, compare user patterns, and uncover where a one-size-fits-all experience was falling short for bike, treadmill, and other users.
With Amplitude, Nautilus set up core event tracking, used insights to tailor workout offerings by modality, and updated the app UX to highlight new workouts more clearly. These changes helped increase the average number of monthly completed workouts, improved engagement, and shifted Nautilus toward a more outcome-focused product roadmap.
