Louisiana Tech University, with about $25 million in annual research expenditures and more than 200 active grants, struggled to manage award activity using separate spreadsheets—only one person could view each grant at a time and the university’s financial system showed paid cash but not approved commitments. To gain transparency and real-time reporting across the Office of Sponsored Projects, deans and department heads, the university selected AmpliFund’s grant management solution.
AmpliFund was implemented in 2016 to centralize awards, provide line-item budget detail, and support campus-wide access and reporting; the Office of Sponsored Projects onboarded five staff, ran quarterly trainings, and now has roughly 80 users with 230 active grants, almost 300 pending and about 150 closed in the system.
