UCHealth partnered with Amplifire to address the high risk of workplace violence facing patient-facing staff in behavioral health situations. With nurses and other care providers frequently encountering agitated, aggressive, or challenging patients and visitors, UCHealth needed a better way to build confidence and correct misinformation around de-escalation techniques.

Amplifire implemented an adaptive learning course for 6,849 UCHealth staff focused on de-escalation, boundary setting, and when to involve security or law enforcement. The program identified and corrected more than 43,000 instances of confidently held misinformation, and UCHealth saw a 34% decrease in workplace violence incidents, an 11% decrease in violent restraint use, and a 5% increase in staff de-escalation confidence.
