Large East Coast Hospital partnered with Amplifire to address the high-risk, high-variability nature of obstetrics training. The hospital needed to reduce knowledge gaps and confidently held misinformation among 502 patient-facing OB nurses and physicians in areas where clinical errors can lead to serious harm and malpractice exposure, including fetal monitoring, hypertension in pregnancy, postpartum hemorrhage, and shoulder dystocia.

Amplifire delivered four adaptive, cognitive-science-based courses tailored to each learner’s starting knowledge, measuring misinformation, uncertainty, and proficiency in real time. The program identified and corrected 38,567 instances of confidently held misinformation and 24,926 instances of uncertainty, with clinicians reaching 100% proficiency by the end of the courses. The case study also showed measurable knowledge gains across the specific obstetric topics, helping Large East Coast Hospital strengthen patient safety and reduce clinical risk.
