A Amplifire Case Study
Clostridium difficile, a major cause of healthcare-associated infections in U.S. hospitals, posed a serious challenge for a large health system with 3,384 nurses. The organization needed a better way to improve antimicrobial stewardship and reduce confidently held misinformation around C. difficile transmission, antibiotics, and screening, using Amplifire’s e-learning platform.
Amplifire implemented an adaptive learning program that identified and corrected nurses’ knowledge gaps, doubts, and confidently held misinformation in real time. The study found 6,934 instances of confidently held misinformation and 7,057 instances of uncertainty, with some nurses spending up to 25 minutes in the module; by the end, 100% of participating nurses completed the course confident and correct on all topics, helping support efforts to reduce C. difficile risk and improve patient safety.
