Case Study: Charlotte AHEC improves opioid prescribing knowledge with Amplifire

A Amplifire Case Study

Preview of the Charlotte AHEC Case Study

Charlotte AHEC - Customer Case Study

Charlotte AHEC worked with Amplifire to address a critical opioid education challenge among physicians: despite ongoing public health efforts, many clinicians still had gaps, uncertainty, or confidently held misinformation about safe opioid prescribing, naloxone use, risk factors, and pain management. Traditional continuing medical education had proven insufficient to drive lasting behavior change, so Charlotte AHEC sought a more effective way to improve clinician knowledge and patient safety.

Using Amplifire’s adaptive Learning and Performance Platform and its Opioid Safe Use and Management course, Charlotte AHEC trained 363 physicians in 2021. Amplifire identified and remediated 1,650 instances of confidently held misinformation and 3,963 instances of uncertainty, and by the end of the course 100% of clinicians were proficient on all material. The platform also surfaced risk hotspots by topic and supported individual action plans for clinicians who struggled, helping Amplifire turn education into measurable practice improvement.
