Evergreen, one of the nation's largest recyclers of PET, faced significant challenges due to labor shortages and the arduous nature of manual sorting. The company struggled to staff its facility and maintain consistent, high-quality output for its food-grade recycled materials, problems that were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. To support a major expansion, Evergreen turned to vendor AMP for a solution involving their AI-guided robotics.

AMP installed six custom Delta robotic units at Evergreen's facility. The implementation was a success, with the robots achieving pick rates of up to 120 bottles per minute, a 200% increase, while removing 90% of contamination. This allowed Evergreen to reassign staff to more skilled roles and consistently produce higher-quality material. The measurable impact was so compelling that Evergreen expanded its partnership with AMP, deploying additional robots to other facilities and becoming the largest operator of AI-guided robots with a North American reclaimer.
