Scottish Government’s People Directorate needed to speed up a long, manual pre-employment vetting process that relied on large email attachments, printed paperwork, and postal returns of sensitive documents such as passports and qualifications. Working through the CivTech accelerator, they partnered with Amiqus to improve staff screening and make the process more secure, accessible, and efficient for candidates and the resourcing team.

Amiqus implemented its pre-employment screening software and helped create a new payment gateway to support rapid Disclosure checks. The pilot cut the end-to-end pre-employment process by 80%, reducing it from 5.5 weeks to 7 days, with candidates able to submit information within 24 hours and receive a start date as soon as 2 days later; candidate satisfaction was strong and staff morale improved significantly.
