Sustainability Advisory and Software Optimizes Facility’s Enterprise Asset Management

Washington State Department of Corrections (WADOC) needed a better way to manage a large, complex portfolio of 800 buildings and 1,500 fleet vehicles, while also tracking capital needs, maintenance activity, and energy/sustainability data for compliance reporting. Ameresco provided AssetPlanner® enterprise asset management software, along with capital planning, facility condition assessments, and maintenance management tools to help address the agency’s deferred maintenance backlog and improve visibility across operations.

Ameresco implemented a long-term software and advisory solution that combined AssetPlanner®, a computerized maintenance management system, energy and sustainability software, and managed support services. The platform helped WADOC establish asset condition, quantify deferred maintenance, develop lifecycle profiles, and create a capital plan for the next 5–30 years; it also streamlined data management and reporting. Measurable impact included monitoring 305 GWh of annual energy consumption and $12 million in energy spend data, while improving decision-making, operational efficiency, and creating a single source of truth for the organization.
