A Ameresco Case Study
The Town of Natick sought to lower rising utility costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions across six municipal buildings. To accomplish this, the Town entered a 20-year solar photovoltaic power purchase agreement (PPA) with Ameresco, procuring renewable electricity at a rate below its previous utility price and with no upfront cost to the Town.
Ameresco designed, installed, and will own, operate, and maintain a 1.08 MW roof‑mounted solar PV system across the six buildings. Under Ameresco’s PPA the system generates roughly 240,000 kWh annually, delivers a 20‑year discounted electricity rate and reduced annual energy costs, avoids about 474 metric tons of CO2 per year, and includes on-site performance displays and classroom teaching materials.
