A Ameresco Case Study
Bethel School District in Spanaway, WA faced aging building systems and rising utility and operational costs across its campuses. To identify inefficiencies and secure funding, the District partnered with Ameresco, leveraging Ameresco’s energy efficiency and ESPC services—including HVAC and controls upgrades, LED lighting, retro‑commissioning, and grant/incentive assistance.
Ameresco delivered turnkey upgrades across the District (work implemented across two dozen buildings) financed by a 16‑year guaranteed‑savings contract, and helped secure $286K in utility incentives and $1.87M in energy efficiency grant funding. The project is estimated to save about $159,691 annually, reduce roughly 1,230 metric tons of CO2 per year, and cut energy consumption (6,850 kW, 18,412 therms, 1,347 gallons of propane), demonstrating measurable cost and carbon reductions from Ameresco’s work.
