Hospital Building Upgrades Save UMC of Southern Nevada 2,367,072 kWh of Energy Annually

University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC) faced aging, inefficient, and maintenance‑intensive equipment across 14 buildings and needed a coordinated upgrade to reduce energy use and operating costs. UMC partnered with Ameresco under an Energy Savings Performance Contract to deploy comprehensive energy conservation measures.

Ameresco retrofitted 10,246 lighting fixtures, installed 707 light sensors, and upgraded water and air systems as part of a $4.5M ESPC, completing the project more than $18,000 under budget. The measures are expected to save about 2,367,072 kWh (roughly 2.4 million kWh) and 8,000 therms annually, cut roughly 600 metric tons of CO2, lower utility and maintenance costs, and extend equipment life.
