Energy Conservation Measures to Save $4M Across 21 State Facilities and Attractions in NH

The State of New Hampshire needed to reduce energy use and modernize 21 Seacoast facilities and attractions without upfront capital. To achieve this, the State of New Hampshire entered into a 19-year Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) with Ameresco to deploy Solar PV and comprehensive energy-efficiency upgrades across 236,015 square feet.

Ameresco installed lighting and window upgrades, new transformers, pipe insulation, energy management systems, demand-controlled ventilation, chiller replacement, infiltration reductions, automatic temperature controls, high-efficiency aquarium pumps and three PV solar arrays. The $2.9M project is projected to generate $4M in energy savings over the contract term, reduce CO2 emissions by 659 metric tons annually, and improve occupant comfort — all delivered by Ameresco with no up-front cost to the State of New Hampshire.
