A Ameresco Case Study
City of Gallipolis partnered with Ameresco to tackle chronic energy inefficiency, aging infrastructure, and water system losses across five municipal buildings and public works systems. Facing infiltration and infusion problems in its wastewater and aging meters, the city engaged Ameresco under an Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) to deliver energy conservation, guaranteed savings, and water meter replacement services.
Ameresco implemented a $6 million ESPC that included a wastewater engineering study, 1.8 miles of sewer line upgrades, a comprehensive lighting, pool, automation and control program, and replacement of roughly 3,300 water meters. The project delivered about $357,500 in annual energy savings, resolved infiltration and leaking meter issues, provided landscaping and repairs, and was structured as a budget-neutral plan with Ameresco’s financial engineering support.
