Burts Ranch, a family-owned hunting lodge in Bracketsville, Texas that runs an intensive native deer-management program and supports veterans’ hunts, faced a critical challenge: a remote well needed to pump water 1.33 miles to the residence and storage tank to serve guests and game. Ameresco was engaged to provide a renewable energy solution, delivering a Design/Build photovoltaic system to supply reliable, off-grid water pumping.

Ameresco designed and supplied a solar-direct pumping system—using pump model #11SQF2 with three 175‑watt modules plus a pump controller, pressure switch and pressure tank—and coordinated local installation. The system automatically pumps water up to about 7,500 feet to the house when sunlight permits, eliminating dependence on grid power and providing an unattended, dependable water supply; Burts Ranch reports restored confidence in its water system and uninterrupted service for guests and animals.
