9.2 mw wind project for ppc renewables designed and constructed by ameresco

Public Power Corporation needed to expand renewable generation on the island of Kefalonia to preserve its natural beauty and meet environmental sustainability goals. In 2019 Public Power Corporation (via its subsidiary PPC Renewables) awarded Ameresco a design‑build‑operate‑maintain (DBOM) contract to deliver a 9.2 MW wind project consisting of four 2.3 MW turbines.

Ameresco designed and constructed the €9.8 million Kefalonia Wind Project at Xerakia Dilinata and will provide 14 years of fixed‑price operation and maintenance, bringing 9.2 MW of clean capacity online. The Ameresco project cuts CO2 emissions by about 22,000 tons per year, returns 3% of project revenues to local communities, and materially advances Public Power Corporation’s sustainability and local economic goals.
