Case Study: Omrin reduces mileage, fuel use and CO2 and boosts truck fill from 60% to 80% with AMCS Group route optimization

A AMCS Group Case Study

Preview of the Omrin Case Study

Using AMCS route optimization, Omrin has been able to reduce mileage, make fewer stops, reduce fuel consumption, lower CO2 emissions, and optimize fill levels from 60% previously to 80% today

Omrin, a leading Dutch recycling and resource-recovery company serving more than 200,000 households with 10 materials recovery facilities, faced low and unpredictable container fill levels, planner workload, and an imminent expansion of its collection area. To address these operational challenges, Omrin deployed AMCS Group’s route optimization software and integrated IoT fill‑level sensors across roughly 400–450 residential containers.

Using AMCS Group’s dynamic routing and automated nightly scheduling, Omrin moved from semi‑dynamic to fully dynamic collections, sending drivers only to full bins and giving planners ready-to-review plans each morning. The result: truck fill rates rose from 60% to 80%, with fewer pickups per day, reduced mileage and stops, lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, improved predictive planning during peak periods, and the capacity to absorb the planned expansion without adding vehicles.
