Case Study: Danish Crown Group achieves lower transport costs, faster planning and real-time delivery control with AMCS Group

A AMCS Group Case Study

Preview of the Danish Crown Group Case Study

Danish Crown, one of the world’s largest pork exporters, receives 14 million pigs a year in Denmark alone

Danish Crown Group, one of the world’s largest pork exporters handling about 14 million pigs a year in Denmark and relying on 230 trucks across multiple carriers, faced fragmented, manual planning that made it hard to match slaughterhouse capacity, ensure timely pickups, and maintain a stable supply. To solve visibility, timing and cost-control issues they selected AMCS Group’s transport planning technology, including the AMCS Livestock Planner, to replace limited web-portal planning and reduce time-consuming coordination between farmers, carriers and slaughterhouses.

AMCS Group implemented its transport planning system across carriers, delivering route lists to drivers’ mobile devices, real-time status updates, automatic time/distance and cost calculations, and capacity-matching tools. The result: carriers report a 15–25% reduction in planning time, increased numbers of pigs moved, improved delivery reliability and transparency for farmers and planners, and a clear pathway to the targeted ~5% annual transport-cost reduction.
