Case Study: Returpack achieves centralized transport control and fleet reduction with AMCS Group's route optimisation solution

A AMCS Group Case Study

Preview of the Returpack Case Study

Collecting 1.7 billion cans and bottles each year, Returpack is Sweden’s largest deposit-refund player

Returpack, Sweden’s largest deposit‑refund operator, handles collection, administration and deposits for 2,700 stores and processes 1.7 billion cans and bottles each year with roughly 48 trucks. Having relied on 20 independent transporters for planning, Returpack lacked visibility into daily execution and transport costs, so they engaged AMCS Group for a transport planning and optimisation solution.

AMCS Group implemented an integrated suite—AMCS Route Planner, AMCS Fleet Planner, AMCS Mobile and the AMCS Web Portal—covering strategic, tactical and operational planning, real‑time driver coordination, automated transporter billing and integration with Returpack’s systems. The result gave Returpack full control of planning, better customer service and instant cost/route analysis, with measurable gains including an immediate reduction of two trucks (with larger reductions expected), improved tendering data and automated invoicing.
