Case Study: AES achieves 15% cost-per-lift reduction and improved customer service with AMCS Group's route optimization platform

A AMCS Group Case Study

Preview of the AES Case Study

AES invested in route optimization to optimize their routes for cost-saving purposes and to increase customer service

AES, part of the Bord na Mona Group, is one of Ireland’s leading waste management and recycling companies, serving roughly 100,000 residential and 6,000 commercial customers. AES faced inefficient, driver-planned routes that led to missed bins, extra mileage and overtime, and lost customers — so they invested in route optimization using the AMCS Group’s AMCS Platform / AMCS Intelligent Optimisation to cut costs and improve customer service.

AMCS Group implemented its route-optimization platform while AES trained staff and rolled out changes depot by depot, ultimately changing about 80% of service days. The AMCS solution delivered measurable results: roughly a 15% reduction in cost per lift, complete elimination of costly ad hoc missed-bin routes, far fewer missed collections, better vehicle redeployment and capacity visibility, and the ability to take on many new customers with existing vehicles.
