A AMCS Fleet Maintenance Case Study

Silver Eagle Soars Using Mobile Computing

Silver Eagle Distributors, the nation’s largest Anheuser‑Busch distributor by volume, manages a large, mixed fleet (320 tractors, 368 trailers, 278 vans plus pickups, cars and extensive off‑road equipment). Fleet maintenance was hampered by paper repair orders, technicians needing to walk to desktop terminals for vehicle data, handwritten entry errors and inefficient scheduling across multiple sites.

Silver Eagle has used AMCS Fleet Maintenance since 1995 and recently added 28 Pocket PCs running Pocket AMCS, wirelessly linked to the server. Technicians now access vehicle records, templates and VMRS data on the spot, eliminating paperwork and duplicate data entry. The deployment reduced labor costs, increased shop productivity, streamlined maintenance scheduling and noticeably cut errors.
