Aras boosts parts sourcing across 450 million components with AMC Bridge

Aras Corporation, a provider of open-source Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, faced a challenge with their Component Engineering application. Customers wanted more open access to this tool, which integrates the IHS CAPS Universe database, and the ability to install it outside of the full PLM suite. To address this, Aras engaged AMC Bridge to develop a new, stand-alone mobile application.

AMC Bridge developed the Aras Component Search app for Windows 8 tablets, making it available for download via the Microsoft Store. The application provided essential search and part request/approval functionality with an intuitive Metro UI that required no user training. This solution led to a significant increase in users, faster part approval and sourcing times, and improved collaboration and productivity for Aras' clients.
