A Amazon Web Services Case Study
ZyXEL, a global networking company founded in 1989 that serves hundreds of thousands of businesses and millions of end users, relied on two origin servers (Taiwan and Denmark) and a third-party CDN to deliver website content worldwide. While the previous CDN met availability and performance needs, it was prohibitively expensive and ZyXEL needed a more flexible, multi-origin solution that would let them push changes quickly and lower long-term costs.
After evaluating providers, ZyXEL migrated its CDN to Amazon CloudFront with support from an AWS Solutions Architect, using IAM for access control and Business-level support for the transition. The switch preserved customer experience while reducing CDN operating costs by more than 99%, and gave ZyXEL easier management via AWS APIs and the console to deploy dynamic and static content globally.
