Case Study: Zoox accelerates autonomous vehicle testing with Amazon Web Services

A Amazon Web Services Case Study

Preview of the Zoox Case Study

Zoox Uses AWS for Scalable High Performance Computing to Rapidly Test Autonomous Vehicles

Zoox, an autonomous vehicle company, needed to scale high-performance computing and data storage fast enough to test safety-critical driving systems across millions of scenarios. It turned to Amazon Web Services, using services such as Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, Amazon EKS, and Amazon CloudWatch to support rapid simulation, machine learning, and hybrid cloud workloads.

With Amazon Web Services, Zoox can burst compute capacity, spin up up to 1,000 nodes in a Region, and more than double available CPUs and GPUs for demanding validation runs. The company now stores tens of petabytes in Amazon S3 and gets faster results for R&D experiments, helping accelerate development while improving collaboration, efficiency, and cost control.
