Woongjin Thinkbig - Customer Case Study

Woongjin Thinkbig, a South Korean education company founded in 1980, serves more than 440,000 members with mobile and offline learning content across 740,000 subjects. The company wanted to analyze years of accumulated learner data to identify learning types and deliver customized learning solutions, but its on‑premises environment could not support the scale or speed required for big‑data analytics and would have been costly and time‑consuming to expand.

Woongjin Thinkbig migrated to AWS with support from partner Megazone, implementing Amazon Kinesis, EMR, Elasticsearch, Aurora, and S3 (with CloudWatch and CloudFormation for management). The cloud platform was built in about three months, reduced operating costs, improved analytics performance and stability, and enabled rapid, real‑time personalized recommendations that have helped improve members’ learning habits and grades.
