WebBeds Reduces Costs up to 64% Using Amazon EC2 Spot Instances and AWS Graviton

WebBeds, a fast-growing B2B travel intermediary operating in more than 120 cities across 50+ countries, faced severe disruption during the COVID-19 pandemic after losing 95% of its online traffic. As it looked to cut costs and adapt to volatile demand, WebBeds turned to Amazon Web Services, using Amazon EC2 Spot Instances and AWS Graviton to support its infrastructure.

Amazon Web Services helped WebBeds reduce spending by shifting workloads to Spot Instances and AWS Graviton-based Amazon EC2 instances for better price performance and scalability. The results were substantial: WebBeds cut costs by 55% on Windows instances and 64% on Linux instances, while also improving CPU performance by 40%. This helped WebBeds lower energy use, improve sustainability, and become the top user of Spot Instances and AWS Graviton in the Iberian Peninsula.
