A Amazon Web Services Case Study
Vpon, founded in 2008, is a mobile advertising and analytics provider serving clients across Asia — including McDonald’s, Coca‑Cola, American Express, and Citibank — with coverage of more than 600 million devices. Rapid growth exposed limits in its on‑premises and collocated infrastructure: rising data volumes, strict latency needs, and advertising demand peaks forced slow provisioning (two weeks to a month) and even turning down large customers.
Vpon migrated to Amazon Web Services, using Redshift, Amazon RDS, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, EC2/EMR and AWS Support to automate testing, staging and scaling. The move let the company onboard customers in days, handle five times the requests per second, cut developer feedback loops from 60 minutes to 10, reduce average latency from 100–200 ms to under 10 ms, support 3x traffic peaks without hardware, and target halving infrastructure costs while positioning for up to 20x business growth.
