A Amazon Web Services Case Study
VivaKi, part of Publicis Groupe, is a Chicago-based digital services business that builds analytics and data platforms for agency teams worldwide. It needed detailed, geo-targeted campaign reporting that ad-server summaries couldn’t provide, but its legacy 200‑server cluster couldn’t handle scale or peak traffic—taking about six hours to produce a single ad-server summary and causing lengthy delays during high-volume periods.
VivaKi rebuilt its SkySkraper platform on AWS (EC2, S3, EMR, Redshift, ElastiCache, DynamoDB) to create an elastic, scalable pipeline for log-level data and geo-enabled summaries. The migration cut a 10 TB, six‑month data load from roughly 20 days to six hours, supports thousands of campaigns while adding ~3 TB/month, reduced infrastructure staffing from an estimated 40 to 15 (≈60–75% cost savings), and enabled faster, more accurate analytics and centralized data storage across media types.
