As it scaled its AWS managed‑services practice, Version 1 needed an enterprise‑grade backup and recovery solution that integrated with AWS, handled hundreds of terabytes of data, reduced the burden on managed‑services staff, and met strict security and compliance requirements for regulated customers.

Version 1 deployed CloudRanger from AWS Marketplace — a SaaS backup and recovery solution built on AWS (Amazon EC2, RDS, CloudFront, ACM, KMS, WAF) and delivered with CloudFormation for rapid rollout. The solution gave Version 1 centralized control and scheduling, enabled efficient management of ~500 TB of backups, saved managed‑services staff hundreds of hours annually, cut customers’ cloud costs by tens of thousands of euros (up to 70% for dev/test), and met the security and compliance standards needed to win large, multiyear contracts.
