Verizon, a leading U.S. communications provider, needed to scale security validation as it migrated business applications to AWS. Moving from on‑premises to a shared, automated cloud model meant developers were provisioning infrastructure and traditional manual checks couldn’t keep up; Verizon required a way to prevent insecure configurations before deployment while supporting agile, automated pipelines.

Working with Stelligent, Verizon built the Development‑Security‑Operations Pipeline (DSOP) on AWS, using CloudFormation and the CFN_NAG static analyzer plus staged checks with AWS Config and a vulnerability scanner. DSOP integrates with the DevOps pipeline, produces signed approvals, and is self‑service for teams. The result: consistent, predeployment security checks, rapid rule updates, enterprise scalability, and—where DSOP is used—100% compliance with security policies and a dramatic reduction in post‑deployment security issues.
