Veolia Migrates 34 Business-Critical Applications to AWS for Improved Scalability and Faster Data Access

Veolia, a global leader in ecological transformation across waste, water, and energy services, needed a secure and scalable path to modernize its operations and data access. The company began its cloud journey with Amazon Web Services, using AWS to migrate its Citrix environment and lay the foundation for moving 34 business-critical applications, while meeting data sovereignty and security requirements.

Amazon Web Services, working with partner CMD Solutions, designed a phased migration and built a secure AWS Landing Zone with multi-AZ architecture, Amazon GuardDuty, AWS Backup, and cloud data services. The result was faster deployment and better visibility: Veolia cut SQL database spend by 67%, reduced Citrix environment setup from multiple days to about 1 hour, improved reporting with self-service dashboards, and accelerated data syncs from weeks to daily.
