A Amazon Web Services Case Study

Preview of the Amway Case Study

Using AWS IoT, Amway Delivers on Agile IoT Strategy with First Internet-Connected Product

Amway, the world’s largest direct-selling company, wanted to add Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth to its premium air‑treatment system and launch its first Internet‑connected product, but needed a secure, globally scalable platform and faster product‑development cycles. The initiative grew from a grassroots project into an executive priority focused on delivering connectivity, strong device security, and operational agility.

Amway built a serverless IoT platform on AWS using AWS IoT, Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB, and worked with AWS teams to implement Just‑In‑Time X.509 certificate registration and a CI/CD pipeline. The company launched the Atmosphere Sky within 14 months, cut production deployment times from a week to minutes–hours, avoided upfront infrastructure costs, and gained continuous device telemetry that fuels product, R&D, and marketing insights.
