USEN Delivers Low Cost Piped Music Wirelessly to Thousands of Stores Running On AWS

USEN Corporation, a retailer-focused IoT and music service provider, needed a cost-effective way to launch its AI-based background music service, U MUSIC, while handling heavy access loads and organizing millions of songs for hundreds of thousands of stores. To meet this challenge, USEN chose Amazon Web Services (AWS), using services like AWS Lambda and Amazon DynamoDB to power its cloud-based, wireless BGM platform.

Amazon Web Services implemented a serverless, managed cloud architecture with Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda, Amazon SQS, and Amazon DynamoDB to automate playlist creation and processing. The result was a stable service that generates playlists for each store in about five minutes every hour, supports 30,000+ users, and launched around 60 million yen cheaper than an on-premises alternative, with development completed months faster.
