A Amazon Web Services Case Study

Preview of the Under Armour Case Study

Under Armour - Customer Case Study

Under Armour, the performance apparel company behind the Connected Fitness platform (UA Record, MyFitnessPal, MapMyFitness, Endomondo), serves more than 180 million users and faced rapid growth and strong seasonal and weekly traffic spikes. Relying on a traditional hosting provider and two data centers limited its ability to scale quickly, caused outages that hurt user experience, and constrained the company’s ability to innovate.

Under Armour migrated the Connected Fitness platform to AWS—running nearly 2,000 EC2 instances with Auto Scaling, cross‑region DynamoDB authentication, S3 storage, Kafka messaging, and Redshift analytics. The move delivered elastic scaling and multi‑Region high availability, enabling multiple daily deployments, faster product innovation, improved reliability, and the ability to expand globally with lower latency for users.
