UFV Builds Common Data Lake House Architecture on AWS, Enhancing Governance and Quality

Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV), a growing private university in Madrid, Spain, needed to break down data silos across multiple legacy systems and improve data governance, quality, access, and security. Working with Amazon Web Services, UFV used an AWS-based data lakehouse approach to centralize university data and create a more reliable foundation for reporting and analytics.

Amazon Web Services implemented a shared workflow for data ingestion, transformation, and visualization using services including AWS Professional Services, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, AWS Lake Formation, AWS Lambda, and Amazon EventBridge. The result was near real-time reporting, centralized access across campuses, stronger governance and security, and an estimated annual savings of €20,000 from automation, with report generation reduced from 2–3 days to almost real time.
