TrueCar - Customer Case Study

TrueCar, a digital automotive marketplace connecting consumers with a nationwide network of more than 14,000 certified dealers, faced rapid growth and an aging on‑premises infrastructure that struggled to keep pace. The company needed scalable capacity to handle seasonality, faster developer velocity, better data-driven decision making, and lower operational overhead while supporting new partners and data sources with a small ops team.

TrueCar migrated thousands of virtual machines to AWS with help from APN partner CorpInfo, using AWS Direct Connect, EC2, S3, CloudFront, Kinesis, Redshift, ECS/RDS and other services. It also built “Spacepods,” self‑service, production‑replica dev/test environments that spin up in about five minutes, enabling faster innovation, reduced hardware management, improved analytics, and closer cross‑functional collaboration between infrastructure and application teams.
