Travis Perkins - Customer Case Study

Travis Perkins plc is a FTSE 100 UK builders’ merchant and home‑improvement retailer made up of 21 businesses (including Wickes and Tile Giant), with more than 1,900 outlets and about 30,000 employees. Facing slow, inflexible on‑premises operations and a five‑year plan to go all‑in on the cloud, the 500‑person IT team set out to move mission‑critical SAP Hybris storefronts off its data centers to enable continuous deployment, faster testing, and better scalability.

Travis Perkins migrated its SAP Hybris environments to AWS—using Ansible automation across EC2, Amazon RDS, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch and VPCs across three AZs—and adopted AWS Enterprise Support. The move cut end‑to‑end provisioning from three days to two hours, increased available test environments by 500%, reduced instances for its largest site (Wickes) by 60% (saving >$8,000/month), and delivered faster deployments, on‑demand scaling and greater operational agility.
